Maternal-Newborn Nursing focuses on the interpersonal care of the childbearing family. The health care focus includes health promotion and maintenance with emphasis on a high level of overall physical, mental, and social functioning. The nurse by establishing a helping-trust relationship may function to promote health and prevent illness, in a variety of settings. Prerequisites: Junior Semester 1 or permission of the Dean.
