MSN-CLINICAL NURSE LEADER

Description

The Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) is a Master’s prepared, nationally board certified, advanced clinician at the bedside. The role was developed in response to fragmentation and gaps in patient care. As a Master’s prepared generalist, the CNL partners with healthcare providers and management teams to develop and deliver quality care to various patient populations. They become experts in microsystems with focus on safety, outcomes and patient care. The focus of the CNL is to assure the provision of expert, quality, evidence-based care for patients and families in a variety of practice settings. The CNL also provides leadership in the development of staff, resources, and programs that support the goals and mission of healthcare organizations. A CNL may also opt to teach. Clinical Nurse Leaders are not advanced practice nurses and do not diagnose health conditions or have prescription privileges.

Our Master’s degree CNL program usually requires three to four years to complete.
